It is almost Father’s Day in Australia – the first Sunday in September. Not sure what to do, or stuck for a gift idea?
Here are some ideas to inspire you – and family budget friendly!
Go on a picnic. Grab a blanket or picnic chairs, a BBQ chicken and bread rolls from the supermarket, and head off to your favourite park. Laze about for as long as the kids will let you and enjoy some fresh air.
Bake a Father’s Day cake. My husband and boys made me one for Mother’s Day and I loved it!
If the kids are old enough, get them to write Dad a story, with all of you as characters in it. Make it as simple or creative as you like!
Play a game together of his favourite sport.
Take a photo of everyone pulling silly faces and frame it for him.
Buy him his favourite movie on DVD and include a bag of popcorn or other movie snacks with it.
Plan a project to do with him – build or make something together.
Make home made pizzas and everyone can do their own toppings.
Go for a bike ride.
Paint him a moustache mug to use for his morning coffee or to use at work. Fill it with his favourite chocolates or a bag of freshly ground coffee beans.
What plans do you have for this Father’s Day?
