Imagine having to choose between buying food for yourself and your family, or buying sanitary products. Most of us, I imagine, do not have to make this choice and are able to purchase or access both. Unfortunately, some women can’t.
An incredible organisation called Share the Dignity exists to provide homeless and at risk women with sanitary products, so they don’t have to choose. Giving them a sense of dignity.
This month, Share the Dignity is running a collection drive across Australia, and need your support.
How can you help? When you’re at the supermarket, pop an extra packet of pads or tampons in your trolley, and drop them off at your nearest Share the Dignity collection point. The pads and tampons will then be distributed to women’s shelters and charitable organisations where they are needed.
It won’t cost you a lot of money. It won’t take up a lot of your time. But it will make a huge difference to women in your community.
Spread the word, and check them out on Facebook.
Make sure you’re following Life, kids and a glass of red on Facebook for extra giggles and snippets of silliness!

I wish charities like this didn’t need to exist. If social support services were sufficient in our country then they wouldn’t need to. Good on you for raising awareness. #TeamIBOT
