Dinner time. The words that have most parents reaching for a glass of wine. The time of day that quite often makes our heart rate increase, our blood pressure rise, and having us fighting an uphill battle.
Or is that just me? Continue reading

I came across this idea recently on Karin’s blog at Calm To Conniption. It was obviously the time I needed to see it, and actually think about taking stock myself as it literally leapt off the page at me when I opened my email.
We’re now half way through the year. A year that has flown by at an almost supersonic pace. My birthday has been and gone. I felt like I needed to stop, take a breath and actually go through this list. Continue reading
Make sure you’re following Life, kids and a glass of red on Facebook for extra giggles and snippets of silliness!
I love my children dearly. They make me laugh and smile every day, and are also the reason why I’m always so tired.
But no matter how much of a Supermum I may feel like some days, there is always one guaranteed thing that happens that brings me crashing back down to the world of mortals, and makes me feel like a failure. Dinner time. Continue reading
We’re in the middle of school holidays here. Which means that something phenomenal happens in our home. Our six year old wakes up at the crack of dawn.
On a school day, we have to wake him up. Coax him out of bed. Continue reading
What is with the shrinking size of chocolate bars, and more importantly, those little red frogs packed with artificial colours and flavours that I know are probably going to kill me, but I’m addicted to?

The ones filled with beautifully furnished homes, elegant dining areas, kitchens I would sell one of my kidneys for, and gardens that put the botanical gardens to shame. I sat and flicked through them looking for some inspiration. We moved in to our house a few months ago and it is pretty tired and in need of some freshening up. I want it say “we live here!” as soon as friends and family come to visit.
I want the house to reflect us and be practical for our needs. Continue reading
I was out walking the other day with my 70kg worth of dogs, pram and child, when a woman stopped her car, wound down her window and spoke to me. She told me that she has seen me out walking and admires how I make it look so easy (she obviously hasn’t seen me try to rein in the beasts when they see a cat across the road) and how I’ve inspired her to get out more with her dogs and kids. Finding half a big hairy spider. That’s what is worse.
I went to get the kids bath ready, only to discover remnants of a big, hairy spider. Four hairy legs. That’s all that was left. Continue reading
