Hello, lovely readers. I know I’ve been absent for some time but I hope you’ve been enjoying the giggles over at Life, kids and a glass of red on Facebook.
It’s been what I refer to as a ‘season of stress’. I see a season of stress as any period that causes additional stress or pressure in your day to day life. Whether that may be a major project deadline at work, a sick child or an upheaval such as moving house.
I’m exhausted and run down, but I’m finally starting to follow my own advice. Stupid, hey, that I didn’t just do all this in the first place? Continue reading
I’ve never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions. To me, they seem to have negative connotations, emphasizing that you need to change something about your life because you’re doing it wrong. You’re too fat, you’re not being healthy, you’re not well-travelled, etc etc.
I like the idea of doing things that make you a better you. Easy aspirations. Things that make you feel happy and have positive associations.
I’ve seen some great goals going around on social media which have helped inspire me, so here are some ideas that you may want to try. Continue reading
Like most mums, I’m busy. I feel like I run from work, to school for pick up, to home, all the while keeping on top of washing and keeping small people fed with food they won’t disregard immediately. As parents, we are busy. It never ends. It is exhausting.
Busy with work, busy with kids, busy with stuff that always needs to be done around the house. We are always rushing. Always trying to get all the ‘stuff’ done. Continue reading
What is it with this time of year? Everyone is exhausted and cranky. We’re trying to tick all those jobs off our lists in time for Christmas and school holidays. Lots of pressure. But we know that when it actually gets to school holidays and Christmas, we’re going to be so over it all, we won’t enjoy the time properly.
We’d all rather prefer to hide in a cupboard somewhere with a jar of nutella and a spoon, or a great big glass of red. Or maybe both…. Continue reading
It’s been a while since I sat down at my laptop and tapped away. “Therapeutic typing” is how I referred to blogging. Some moments of time snatched away from the everyday stuff that always needs to be done, and refocused on me.
Maybe that’s where I have gone wrong. Not focusing on me. Continue reading
I’m exhausted. I’ve been running on fumes for months.
I’m burnt out and fed up.
I need a break.
And somehow, the kids just know I’m at breaking point… Continue reading
